A MESSAGE FROM YOUR MNA

Dear Neighbours,

For nearly four years, thanks to the trust you have placed in me, I have carried out my duties as MNA for La Pinière with bath passion and humility.

From the very beginning, I assembled a constituency office team with the charge of providing the best service possible to our neighbours in La Pinière. With close to 500 citizen files handled since fall 2022, as well as 2,000 telephone calls and 15,000 emails, I feel confident in saying, "Mission accomplished!"

For my part, I set a goal for myself to be highly present in the riding and actively engaged with those partners tied to my critic responsibilities for the official opposition. With 800 meetings, visits, and activities prepared and carried out since 2022, I believe I have kept my word!

I have also hosted 26 editions of my Café de la députée, meaning 26 Sunday afternoons spent welcoming neighbours to my riding office for an informai and friendly exchange over coffee. These gatherings have allowed organizations and individuals to network, become better known, and support one another. The Café has consistently acted as a catalyst bringing everyone's wonderful energy together.

Through the Soutien à l'action bénévole program, I was able to distribute over $570,000 supporting over 200 community organizations serving the residents of La Pinière.

ln 2025, to address the lack of information among residents about available resources for needs such as home support, food security, respite care, budgeting, housing, mental health, bereavement, and other challenges, my team produced a guide to local resources and activities. The 2026 edition was unveiled during my 25th Café de la députée on April 26. You can obtain a free copy at my riding office.

Since November 2022, I have been the official opposition critic for Seniors, Caregivers, Home care and for Montérégie. Recently, 1 also accepted to be critic for Tourism and Consumer Protection while continuing as Vice President of the Health and Social Services Committee, after having been Vice President for the Citizen Relations Committee for 3 years. I hope to cross paths with you over the summer.

Dear Neighbours,

The year 2025 marks the 85th anniversary of women’s right to vote and eligibility to run as candidates in Quebec. Knowing how long and arduously women fought to obtain those rights, I feel all the more honoured to be your Member of National Assembly (MNA).

Whenever I walk past the Monument in Tribute to Women in Politics, on the western side of Parliament Building, I am reminded of the admirable, courageous, and tenacious trailblazers to whom it pays homage: Marie Lacoste-Gérin-Lajoie, Idola Saint-Jean, Thérèse Casgrain, and Marie-Claire Kirkland, the latter being the first woman elected to the National Assembly, in 1961.

Unveiled in 2012, this monument in their honour owes its conception notably to a former MNA for La Pinière, Mrs. Fatima Houda-Pepin, who presided over the implementation committee for the work of sculptor Jules Lasalle.

I hope to see you this summer in the riding of La Pinière, or to welcome you for a chat at my office.

Journal #2 version finale • Linda Caron.jpg

Dear Neighbours,

It's hard to believe we’ve already reached midterm – how time flies! It’s always an honour to represent you at the National Assembly of Quebec and a pleasure to meet you at various activities in our home riding of La Pinière, or simply to run into you in the neighborhood or have a chat during my monthly “Coffee with the MNA.”

I continue to offer steadfast support to community organizations that offer services and help to our neighbours in La Pinière. We are so lucky to count on them and their volunteers!

I have kept the same official duties since the beginning of my term, acting as Official Opposition Critic for Seniors, Informal Caregivers, and Home Care, as well as Critic responsible for the Montérégie Region. I keep my ear on the ground by meeting regularly with organizations that advocate for the rights of seniors, support seniors daily or work in a field related to seniors.

My riding office team is always at your service and pleased to answer your questions or assist you with issues that fall under the jurisdiction of the Quebec Government.
